ഗസ: ഗസയില്‍ 50,000 ത്തോളം ഗര്‍ഭിണികളും മുലയൂട്ടുന്ന സ്ത്രീകളും കടുത്ത പട്ടിണി നേരിടുന്നുണ്ടെന്ന് റിപോര്‍ട്ട്. പോഷകാഹാരക്കുറവ് നവജാത ശിശുക്കള്‍ക്ക് വിനാശകരമായ പ്രത്യാഘാതങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ടാക്കുമെന്ന് യുഎന്‍ പോപ്പുലേഷന്‍ ഫണ്ട് (യുഎന്‍എഫ്പിഎ) മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് നല്‍കി.

'പല ഗര്‍ഭിണികളും ദിവസങ്ങളായി ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചിട്ടില്ല, പട്ടിണി കിടക്കുന്ന പല അമ്മമാരും ജന്മം കൊടുക്കുന്നത് മാസം തികയാതെയാണ്. കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് വേണ്ട വളര്‍ച്ചയും തൂക്കവും ഇല്ല, ഇത് അജിജൃൃതിജീവന സാധ്യത കുറക്കുന്നു'യുഎന്‍എഫ്പിഎ പറഞ്ഞു.
